Cutting machine incorporates six oxyfuel torches,
two plasma torches

The V304 plate processing system from Voortman delivers multitorch oxyfuel cutting, plasma straight cutting, and plasma 3-D beveling. It is suitable for repeating and simultaneous cutting jobs and layout marking.

A maximum of six oxyfuel torches, two plasma torches, or a combination can be added to the steel gantry. Both the oxyfuel triple bevel torch and the 3-D plasma torch can perform weld preparations and produce X, Y, K, or V cuts. A strip cutting unit with three oxyfuel torches can be used for cutting strips out of raw plates. For fast marking of steel plates, a stepless, rotatable inkjet marking unit can be installed.

The machine will be available with True Hole Technology by Hypertherm® and Contour Cut from Kjellberg® to help improve hole quality. Various nesting programs are offered with the machine, from simple to advanced software, to help optimize time and material usage.

Double synchronous-driven servo drives in combination with double linear guides and helical rack and pinion system deliver high-precision gantry movement. A rubber band covers and protects the linear guides from dust and dirt.

The 3-D plasma bevel unit is controlled by 5 axes. The steel bridge is equipped with linear guides to allow for thermal expansion. Heat shield caps are installed underneath the bridge to prevent unnecessary wear.

Bimetal band saw blade made to handle
difficult-to-cut materials

LENOX® has introduced the Contestor XL™ bimetal band saw blade, engineered for sawing large, difficult-to-cut metals.

The blade features a high-speed steel edge wire that increases tooth hardness for improved abrasive wear resistance. The blade’s patent-pending chip-controlling design helps reduce heat and wear, while its shallow gullet shape helps maximize beam strength, the manufacturer reports.

Applications include mold steels, stainless steels, tool steels, titanium alloys, and nickel-based alloys.

Single-stage gas pressure regulator delivers
correct flow all day without adjustment

Linde Gases has announced the launch of the SMOOTHFLO™ single-stage gas pressure regulator. According to the manufacturer, the unit delivers optimal flow throughout the day, with only three turns of the pressure-adjusting knob on initial setup. This is achieved via a lever-activated, encapsulated valve with the company’s proprietary Dynamic Quadflow Stability Control technology.

A breakoff inlet stem helps ensure that if a cylinder is damaged by a fall, the excess-flow valve will seal off any gas discharge automatically. The piston-embedded safety valve helps prevent contaminants from blocking or entering the valve. Piston-driven technology also produces pressure stability at high flow rates.

Patented panel-mounted gauges are recessed and integrated into the regulator, helping to reduce instances of potential pressure gauge damage. The regulator’s mirror configuration helps prevent hose overlap and reduces the potential risk of oxygen/acetylene fires.
