Feldmeier Equipment Inc., a fabricator of stainless
steel storage and processing equipment, has broken
ground in Little Falls, N.Y., on a 50,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility. The company also plans to upgrade machinery and equipment at its Syracuse headquarters and
existing Little Falls facility.
The $8 million project will create 80 new jobs and retain nearly 300 existing jobs in New York.
Leggett & Platt has announced plans for a $5 million
expansion of its Flex-O-Lators facility in Carthage, Mo.
The plant makes automotive seating components.
The expansion will add 28,000 sq. ft. to the plant and
create 12 jobs.
The company, which has 130 locations in 17 countries,
produces various products for homes, offices, and vehicles.

Steel toll processor Andes Coil Processors LLC has hired Shaun Pressly
as general manager of the Lewisville,
Texas, facility.
He is a 10-year veteran of
Worthington Industries, having
served as one of the leads in the
company’s Centers of Excellence initiative.
Beckhoff Automation LLC, a provider of open automation systems
in Savage, Minn., has added two
engineers to its Systems Engineering Group. This team, now staffed
with six engineers, assists machine
builders and manufacturers with the
planning, design, and implementation of new machinery and equipment that feature the company’s PC-based control systems.
The first of the new hires is Robin
McKee, formerly from Par Nuclear,
who has more than 30 years of control experience in such industries
as nuclear, wastewater, HVAC, and
dairy. Also joining the company is
Matt Besser, who worked previously
at Aspect Automation. He has more
than 24 years of control experience
in specialized machine applications
such as assembly machinery for
medical devices. Besser’s other experience includes process control of
commercial ovens used in large bakery operations and web handling.
