Anderson-Crane has installed a waterjet cutting system
at its Litchfield, Minn., fabrication facility manufactured
by Jet Edge Inc., St. Michael, Minn. Bringing waterjet cut-
ting in-house, the company now can cut complex, fin-
ished-quality parts from almost any material,
;e midrail gantry system features an 8- by 13-ft. work
envelope and SigmaNEST® Companion CAD/CAM nest-
ing software. It is powered by a 60,000-PSI, 50-HP Jet
Edge iP60-50 waterjet intensifier pump and has an Ebbco
closed-loop water filtration and chilling system.
Anderson-Crane manufactures material handling
equipment, including screw conveyors, screw feeders,
and bucket elevators, as well as hoppers, bins, and gates.
;e company also operates as a local job shop, building
structural equipment for local businesses and molds for
the plastics industry.
Steel Fab to invest $1.5
million in Virginia steel
manufacturing operation
Steel Fab has announced plans to
establish a pressure tank production
operation in Lebanon, Va. ;e $1.5
million project will create 50 new
jobs and save 240 jobs.

service center and manufacturing
networks that supply products and

;e location allows Steel Fab to
organize its production in one facility and expand its product line into
larger pressure vessel tanks.
Axis Pipe and Tube begins
construction on new plant
Axis Pipe and Tube Inc., a division
of ;e Prolamsa Group, has broken
ground in Bryan, Texas, for a new
pipe and tube facility. ;e company
will invest more than $150 million in
the new plant.
By mid-2014, the 183-acre facility will produce more than 300,000
tons annually of ERW energy tubular
products in diameters up to 16 in.,
with wall thicknesses up to 0.625 in.,
for the oil and natural gas industries.
;e plant will have a slitting line,
mill, finishing floor, and heat treatment facilities, with capabilities for
producing a variety of API grades.
It is expected to employ more than
285 people at full capacity.
