Fume extractor arm
The Nederman NEX HD heavy-duty
arm has an 8-in.-dia. hose for welding,
metal spraying, and grinding. The
hood, made of aluminum, is designed
to withstand temperatures of extracted air (+250 degrees F) and has a high
capturing capacity.
The arm is available in four lengths
— 7, 10, 13, and 16 ft.—and is suitable for applications that demand
high airflows.

The Domino HS 1530 from Prima
North America Inc. is a multiaxis, 2-D/
3-D, high-speed laser system. Its combined X-Y-Z axes speed of 5,900 IPM is
the highest axes speed available in its
category, the company states.
The machine can cut flat or
shaped parts or perform bevel cutting.
Features include direct-drive cut-ting/welding heads and a synthetic
granite frame. Positioning accuracy
and repeatability are 0.001 in.
The system’s cantilever design gives
it a compact overall size. However, it
has a large X-Y-Z working capacity of
120 by 60 by 16 in. The laser head does
two rotations: A axis 360 degrees continuous and B axis ±135 degrees. It
cuts anything from conventional 2-D
flat sheets to complex 3-D pieces at
any head orientation.
A CNC focal axis and capacitance
height sensor help maintain the
standoff distance from the work surface while adapting to material and
thickness accordingly. This eliminates manual operator intervention,
facilitating unattended production
runs. The laser head has a magnetic
breakaway system that protects
against crashes. In the event of an
obstruction, the head safely releases
and the machine can be operational
again in minutes.
The optional CNC rotary axis
allows for tube cutting. Automated
pallet changer, fully automatic material handling, and storage unit options
also are available.
