Press brake
The Bystronic PR series press brake
comes standard with new integrated
process control (IPC) technology,
which provides fast, precise springback compensation and thickness
measurement for processing a range of
materials and thicknesses.
The pressure reference system pro-
Flowmeters
vides users with accurate first-time
bends, regardless of contact area irreg-ularities, the company reports. This
technology maintains high control
over the variables that affect bending
performance and accuracy.
It provides dynamic crowning,
side frame deflection compensation,
pressure regulation, temperature
compensation, and tool overload
protection.
The springback compensation
eliminates test bending, checking, adjusting, and rebending.

Universal Flow Monitors Inc. has
introduced FlowStream® OFM series
mass flowmeters for measurement of
shielding gas for arc welding applications.
The meters feature field selectabil-ity of multiple gases for measuring
mass flow rate. A user can program
the meter for measurement of shielding gases for GTAW, GMAW, and
PAW processes. Other applications
include blanketing gas, purge gas, and
leak detection.
The flowmeter can be programmed
to select a variety of clean, dry, nonaggressive gases. The selection includes
air, argon, CO2, helium, hydrogen,
methane, nitrogen, and oxygen. A gas
is selected by pushing buttons on the
meter face. The span of the unit’s
transmitted signal can be changed
with push buttons as well.

Totalizing capability is offered to
increase the meter’s ability to measure, monitor, and control the total
amount of gas used in a process. The
meters are available with programmable set points for flow as standard. A
scaled pulse output for totalization is
an option. Bidirectional and battery-operated units are available.

CAD/CAM for cutting
Jetcam offers a new version of Expert
CAD/CAM software for punching,
profiling, and routing technologies. It
provides complete interaction, complete automation, or something in
between, depending on the user’s
requirements.
The remote control processing
(RCP) allows external programs such
as MRP to completely automate the
programming and NC code generation process for hands-off operation.
Advances in common-line cutting
features have helped reduce machine
cycle time and material use. Free-form, high-performance nesting also
helps contribute to material savings.
