Die safety blocks
Rockford Systems offers a new line of
safety blocks for use when dies are
being adjusted or repaired in a press.
They come in X, U, and octagon
shapes and adjustable screw safety
block style.
Formulas and examples are furnished to determine which size,
height, and static load of safety block
would be the best for a particular
application.
Accessories include lifting handles,
safety block bases, and safety block
holders. Also available are adjustable
screw devices and aluminum safety
wedges, which are used to eliminate
any space between the block and die.
The interlock must be interfaced with
the control system so that when the
plug is pulled, power to the main
drive motor and control is disconnected.

Laser cutting system
Strippit/LVD offers the Axel 3015 linear laser cutting system for processing
both thin sheets and thick materials.
A high-pressure cutting head is
available for 5-, 7.5-, and 10-in. cutting lenses. The cutting head produces clean cuts, states the company,
and is equipped with a safety system
that protects the head from collision
with the workpiece.
The 10-in. cutting lens allows the
machine to process mild steel from
0.394 to 0.591 in. thick and 1-in.
mild steel with a 4-kW laser source.
With the 10-in. lens, 3⁄4-in. mild steel
can be processed at 40 IPM, and 3⁄8-in.
mild steel can be cut at speeds of 80
IPM.
The laser source, CNC, and servomotors are integrated and interfaced
as a complete system. The monoframe
design incorporates high-precision,
hardened guideways and optimal drive
systems to help achieve high-speed
acceleration and positioning speeds.
A constant beam length system
keeps the diameter of the laser beam
constant, maintaining a fixed focal
point position. CADMAN-A software helps simplify machine use by
providing an explanation of error
messages, automatic calculation of
standoff distance, and graphic display
during the cutting process.
Integrated shuttle tables help operators achieve continuous, uninterrupted part processing. The shuttle
table design allows one table to be
loaded while the machine is cutting
on the other table.

Galvanized steel angle
Allied Tube & Conduit offers Flo-Form™, a roll-formed steel angle that
is galvanized inline for corrosion protection.
The profiles are made by thickness
specifics rather than the standard 1⁄16-
in. increments commonly found in
the industry. Available wall thicknesses are from 0.083 to 0.250 in. In
addition, the steel delivers a minimum yield strength of 50,000 PSI.
The angle profiles also can be cut
to custom size requirements.
