Dahlstrom Roll Form
marks 115 years in business
Dahlstrom Roll Form, Jamestown,
N. Y., celebrates its 115th anniversary
this year. The company was founded in 1904 by Charles P. Dahlstrom
as Dahlstrom Metallic Door Co.,
manufacturing hollow metal doors.
The roll formed moldings and
shapes developed as architectural trim for the metal doors soon
evolved into a line of specialty
items applied by manufacturers
to their various products, including automotive dashboards and
frames. The company continued to
expand its product line for use in
the railway, housing, and electronics industries.
Today the firm comprises Dahlstrom Roll Form, producing components for OEMs, as well as an
architectural side, Dahlstrom Metal
AZZ to purchase
Fort Worth, Texas-based AZZ Inc.,
a provider of metal coating services, welding systems, specialty
electrical equipment, and highly
engineered services, has reached a
preliminary agreement to acquire
Tennessee Galvanizing Inc., a metal
coatings company in Jasper, Tenn.
Tennessee Galvanizing has four
galvanizing lines, including centrifuge, rod, conveyer, and a 42-ft.
structural kettle. The facility will operate as AZZ Galvanizing—
Chattanooga and will retain key managerial personnel and hourly employees
currently employed at the facility.
The acquisition will increase
AZZ’s Metal Coatings network of
hot-dip galvanizing plants to 41
sites in the U.S. and Canada.
Hyde acquires slitting knives
line from Thurston Mfg.
Southbridge, Mass.-based Hyde
Industrial Blade Solutions (IBS),
a division of Hyde Tools Inc., has
acquired the square edge slitting
knives line from Thurston Mfg.,
Both companies are working to
ensure a smooth transition with no
service interruption. Production
for this line will be moved to Hyde’s
Braner/Loopco installs cut-to-length line at Metalwest
Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, Ill., has installed and commissioned a flying shear cut-to-length line at Metalwest’s Ogden, Utah, coil processing
and metal distribution center. The line can process coated carbon steel,
stainless steel, and aluminum alloy coil in widths to 72 in. and gauges
from 0.015 to 0.135 in.
The line features a hydraulic CNC cassette leveler fitted with two
quick-change leveler cassettes, PVC and paper interleaving for nonferrous products, on-the-fly part reject, a double stacker, and automation.
