JK Tool builds new facility
in Pennsylvania
JK Tool Inc., a designer and manufacturer of progressive stamping tools,
precision machined components, and
custom assemblies, has moved into a
new, custom-designed facility in New
Kensington, Pa.
The 18,000-sq.-;. plant has an open
floor plan, layout, and systematic design to help workers improve communication, process optimization, and ability
to manage projects visually. Through
value stream mapping, equipment is in
the optimal position, with design engineering on the same level as the plant
for immediate feedback from manufacturing to design.
Final assembly and groom areas are
located adjacent to the pressroom to
provide the most direct access to move
completed tools more e;iciently to the
pressroom. This layout has helped improve lead times and deliveries.
The plant o;ers CNC and manual
milling; CNC and manual lathe/turning;
jig, wet, and precision grinding; CEDM
and WEDM; precision metal stamping
die tryouts/production; heat treating;
cryogenic and hardness testing processes; die assembly and build; design
