Autodarkening helmet offers
brightest view in light state
The vegaview2.5 autodarkening welding
helmet from optrel inc. offers the brightest view in light state with a shade level
2. 5, says the company. Shade level 2. 5
offers welders a 400 percent brighter
view of their environment than a typical
shade level 4 in light state, according to
the manufacturer.
The lens includes a True Color Filter to
help welders see their workspace in realistic color without having to raise their
helmets. External controls give welders infinite shade level adjustment from 8
to 12.
Sensor sensitivity is adjustable based on the work environment, and opening delay is adjustable as well. The patented Sensor Slide allows the detection
angle to be reduced from 80 to 60 degrees, preventing the autodarkening filter
from responding to nearby welders’ arcs.

Structural detailing software includes
new nesting engine, improved traceability
Aveva offers a new release of its Bo-cad structural steel detailing software. The new nesting engine helps
manage materials accurately and
decrease waste of raw material by
enabling more parts to be cut per
ton of steel. It also enables more efficient procurement and scheduling,
the company reports.
Enhancements to weld numbering and traceability facilitate regulatory compliance and enable effective
structural life cycle management. Applying unique identifiers to welds provides for improved traceability and identification of a specific weld in a structure. This allows for verification that the weld has been correctly specified in
the detailed designed model and fabricated in accordance with the model.
In addition, elements of the software can be brought into Aveva Marine production tools for fabrication of detailed ship and offshore designs.
