Construction is expected to begin in early 2016, with an
opening anticipated in 2017—marking the centennial anniversary of Lincoln’s legacy welding school. The new 130,000-sq.-
ft. center will double the company’s welding education capacity to 180 welding booths and will include classroom and
seminar spaces. It will also showcase and integrate the manufacturer’s technologies and systems into a comprehensive
welding curriculum.
Miller Electric Mfg. Co., a manufacturer of arc welding
products in Appleton, Wis., has announced its acquisition of
Impact Eng. of Jackson, Mich., a manufacturer of weld data
monitoring systems.
Impact Eng. has previously partnered with Miller on welding
information product development. As part of the acquisition,
Impact Eng.’s products, including ARCAgent™ and ARClient®,
will become part of the Miller Welding Intelligence™ product
offering.
This product offering currently includes Insight Core™, a
simplified, Internet-based welding information system, and
Insight Centerpoint™, which offers advanced, real-time opera-
tor feedback and process controls. The
product additions from Impact Eng.,
specifically ARCAgent, will allow us-
ers with mixed fleets of welding equip-
ment, including non-Miller machines,
to use the Welding Intelligence systems.
The Impact Eng. company name will
phase out at a future date.
Nidec Minster Corp., a manufacturer
of material forming presses and automation equipment based in Minster,
Ohio, has received the RIA Certified Robot Integrator designation. To become
certified, the company completed a rigorous process that included an on-site
audit and testing of key personnel.

OMAX® Corp. has increased the capacity of its training center in Kent,
Wash., for OMAX and MAXIEM® JetMa-chining® Center owners. The 22,000-sq.-

of making parts, including the use of the

have completed a three-year apprenticeship based on the German dual education standard.
