Hexagon Metrology has rebranded to become Hexagon
Manufacturing Intelligence. The name change comes after recent acquisitions, including the CAD/CAM specialist Vero Software and SPC expert Q-DAS, have expanded the business from
its original position as a provider of measurement equipment.
According to the company, the change aligns the business
more closely with its overall strategy to offer software-centric
information technology systems that help improve quality
and productivity across entire industry workflows.
JET Group, Vancouver, B.C., has announced the acquisition of Sellstrom Mfg. Co., a provider of PPE safety products
based in Schaumburg, Ill.
The acquisition of Sellstrom significantly broadens JET
Group’s Canadian safety portfolio by adding several categories of professional PPE products to complement its existing
Pioneer® and Ranpro® safety apparel and Peak Works® fall protection brands.
Sellstrom will continue to be based in Illinois.

Netherlands-based SafanDarley is opening SafanDarley North America in Baltimore, offering sales, service, and spare
parts to U.S. customers and dealers.
The facility, which will include an experience center showcasing the company’s machines, as well as a sales and
service training center, will be staffed by
Dutch and U.S. engineers.
TSCO receives Master of
Quality Award from Daimler
Trucks North America
Tube Specialties Co. Inc. (TSCO), a pipe
and tube fabricator based in Troutdale,
Ore., has received the Master of Quality Award for 2014 from Daimler Trucks
The award is the highest recognition that Daimler Trucks North America
gives to its suppliers. It recognizes the
quality, delivery, technology, and cost
performance of the exhaust, air, and
water tubes TSCO supplies for Freightliner and Western Star truck brands.
3D Systems, Rock Hill, S.C., has entered
into a partner agreement with Methods
Machine Tools Inc., Sudbury, Mass., a
supplier of machine tools and automation for manufacturing. Under the
agreement, Methods offers 3DS’s full
line of professional and production 3-D
printers and materials to its customers.
To spearhead its entrance into the
3-D printer market, Methods will add
dedicated 3-D printing sales, application engineering, and support teams
to its seven regional offices throughout
the U.S. and will create a 3-D printing
showroom in each location.

Chicago-based Graymills Corp., a
producer of metalworking fluid systems
and parts washers, has received the
2015 Manufacturer of the Year Award
from the Illinois Alliance for Industry
and Manufacturing (AIM). The award
recognizes extended commitment to
Illinois and long-term assistance to the
economy, local residents, and the state.
Graymills, founded in 1939, currently
employs about 75 people.
