Hanover, N.H.-based Hypertherm, a U.S.-based manu-
facturer of plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting systems, is
a 2015 winner of the Environmental Protection Agency’s
(EPA’s) Green Power Leadership Award in recognition of
its commitment to using green energy and its support of
green power usage in the community at large.
Hypertherm is one of 11 organizations nationwide to
receive a Leadership Award in the Green Power Purchase
category. In selecting recipients, the EPA evaluates part-
ners who have distinguished themselves through the pur-
chase of green power, defined as zero-emissions electricity
generated from environmentally preferable renewable re-
sources. These resources include wind, solar, geothermal,
biogas, eligible biomass, and low-impact hydropower.
In 2014 Hypertherm fulfilled 100 percent of its domestic
energy requirements with the purchase of more than 18
million k Wh of green power—enough to power 2,000 American homes for a year.
