Bedford, Pa.-based MDL Mfg., a manufacturer of components for the energy, oil and gas, defense, and commercial
industries, has achieved certification to ISO 14001, meeting that standard’s requirements for environmental management.
The effort to meet the goals of the certification was an
eight-month-long process. The firm is aiming for zero
waste to landfill by recycling metals, paper, and plastic.
Michigan Mfg. Intl. (MMI) has announced that its manufacturing facility in Stevensville, Md., has received ISO
9001:2008 certification.
The company supplies manufactured-to-print assemblies and components to OEMs. Products include assemblies, castings, stampings, machined parts, gears, and
bearings.

Central McGowan Inc., a provider
of robotic welding automation, has
opened a 12,000-sq.-ft. automation
manufacturing facility adjacent to its
headquarters in St. Cloud, Minn. The
staff and equipment from Pro-Fect
Automation, which Central McGowan
acquired earlier this year, have now
moved from Little Falls, Minn., to the
St. Cloud facility.
Allan Holst has been hired to manage overall operations as director
of automation. He has more than 30
years of experience working for manufacturers of welding equipment and
CNC cutting machines.
Mike Helmbrecht, Corey Jelinski,
and Willy Novak, previous owners of
Pro-Fect, manage sales, service, and
manufacturing, respectively.
The acquisition and new facility expand Central McGowan’s automation
offering to include FANUC authorized
system integrator status, fully engineered specialty hard automation,
and robotic automation systems.
Cincinnati Sub-Zero, based in
Cincinnati, is celebrating its 75th anniversary of providing temperature-management systems to a variety of
industries.
The company has been owned by
the same family since it was founded
in 1940 by Robert Jacobson as a distributor of the first practical freezer
for food storage.
Coldwater Machine Co., a manufacturer of specialized equipment and
solid-state welding/joining systems
in Coldwater, Ohio, has established
a business agreement with Avant
Garde Technology, Lake Mary, Fla.,
providing Coldwater exclusive sales
representation and turnkey manufacturing rights to Avant Garde’s products and services.
Avant Garde produces industrial lubrication systems and offers contracted machining services and equipment refurbishment.
With this agreement, Avant Garde
operations will be moved from
Lake Mary to Coldwater Machine’s
115,000-sq.-ft. facility, which includes
39,000 sq. ft. of space for full production line assembly.

trademark registration on the color
orange for its line of lifting magnets
from the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office.
