Hyson Products has introduced an updated CAD template library, version 4.0, which features gas spring, manifold cylinder, cam, and component drawings to assist in die design. In addition to a two-CD set available on request, the library can be downloaded directly from the company Web site.

The library includes drawings of the Super Tanker^®series gas springs; Tanker^®XP 200, 400, and 400HS gas springs; T2, T3, and T3T series gas springs; T2SL series stock lifter gas springs; Nitro-Dyne^®XP series manifold cylinders; Dyne-A-Cam^®series cams; LCF™ Force Manager™ series gas springs; CS2 series controllable gas springs; and components.

Drawings are available in 2-D (DXF, DWG, and IGES) and 3-D (Parasolid™, Step, and IGES) formats.

Automatic pipe cutting module

The AVM automatic pipe cutting module from Orbitalum Tools GmbH is designed for use on the company’s RA 6, RA 8, and RA 12 models.

The module controls the cutting speed in relation to the torque and the parameter settings. It helps to increase

ESAB’s new m3 plasma system combines multiple plasma cutting and marking features in a single system. It produces high-speed standard plasma cutting, precision cutting and marking, and high-current thick-plate cutting, all with a single plasma torch.

According to the manufacturer, when configured for 600-amp operation, the system can cut and mark material from 20 ga. to 6. 25 in. without sacrificing cut quality.

The new PT- 36 torch replaces up to three single-purpose torches ( heavy-plate cutting, precision cutting, and marking) and produces a cut face with low dross, requiring little secondary cleanup. The end result is cutting functionality and productivity with minimal setup time, downtime, and consumable cost, the company reports. The new torch can function in both dry and water-injection modes.

The system features a gas control system fully automated by the company’s Vision CNC. The operator selects the material type and thickness, and the CNC automatically selects and mixes the optimal start, cut, and shield gas combination. Process parameters for most plasma cutting and marking applications are preloaded in the CNC, and custom parameter files can be created as needed.

Mandrel release agent

Pico Chemical Corp. has introduced the Picoguard 6275 mandrel release agent that forms a film without dripping and releases metal coils cleanly.

The thixotropic lubricant is applied by spray or brush to a mandrel and will not create an oily, wet surface or leave messy residues on the plant floor. The lubricant will not impregnate or soak into cardboard liners.

Available in all typical package sizes including drums, pails, and tote containers, the lubricant is suitable for metal service centers, processors, fabricators, metal mills, and any facility that recoils sheet metal.

Vertical dry sander

The Kalamazoo Industries model S14D vertical dry sander and the model S14W vertical wet sander, with a built-in coolant system, are designed to meet a range of requirements in heavy-duty applications.

Both sanders feature a 14- by 103- in. belt, a 14¹⁄2- by 36-in. steel platen, a 14- by 32-in. work surface, a 14- by 18-in. tilt worktable, magnetic controls with a jog function, and air belt tensioning. Both units are equipped with a 20-HP, three-phase motor driving the belt at 3,400 SFPM.
