Automatic circular saw
Varady & Associates offers a group of
high-speed, heavy-duty, automatic
carbide circular saws that give users a
mill cut and, in most cases, eliminate
facing to length.
According to the company, the
NC servo-controlled ball screw feed
helps keep bar feeding accurate and
cutting rates efficient. The rigid
design and antivibration device help
ensure smooth, high-speed cutting
while lengthening blade life, states
the manufacturer.
The gear transmission drive has
continuous lubrication, and the floating hydraulic swivel rear vise saddle is
linked to the servomotor and ball
screw for gripping and delivering
slightly bowed or bent bars that could
not otherwise be indexed accurately.
Three models range in size from
0.625 to 5. 9. An optional magazine
loader measures 19. 69 ft. long.

Pipe joint coating system
Radyne has developed a scan-heat
coating tool for field line-pipe joint
coating in the J-lay, S-lay, and spool-bay environments. The totally
enclosed SwirlCoat™ patented coating tool completely surrounds the
pipe, preventing FBE anticorrosion
powder from entering the atmosphere
wherever coatings are applied.
The system can coat varying joint
widths, and pipes of 8 to 12 in. in
diameter can be treated following a
simple tool change. Designed to work
in either the vertical or horizontal
planes, the system helps simplify the
process of custom-coating pipe bends.
The programmable, CNC technology traverses the pipe length to provide inherently safe induction pipe
heating and SwirlCoat powder coating
in one approach. The line pipe is first
scanned electronically to establish
where coating is required. The pipe
then is heated to about 190 degrees C
and FBE is applied via the coating tool
as many times as necessary to build up
the required level of protection.

Video camera for plasma,
oxyfuel cutting
Enter code FC370 at www.ffid.net

MG Systems and Welding has introduced a video camera option for its
TMC4500ST, MPC2000, Titan II,
and MetalMaster Plus plasma and
oxyfuel cutting machines.
The camera can be used as both an
alignment tool and to monitor the
cutting process. The image is displayed on the 15-in. TFT color screen
of the Global Control Plus.
With the crosshair turned on, the
user can capture two, three, or five
points along the edges of the plate to
align the part program to the same
angle as the plate. With the crosshair
turned off, the user has an unobstructed view of the cutting process.
This feature is useful for monitoring the operation on machines that
are very wide and/or long, allowing
the operator to get a bird’s-eye view of
the cutting process without leaving
the operator panel.
