Magnet/vacuum lifter
The Transporter® MV end-of-arm
tooling from Industrial
Magnetics Inc. combines vacuum and magnet technology to
lift and hold all shapes and
types of steel, from brass and
aluminum to ferrous and stainless, perforated, oily, or painted, in stamping,
blanking, and press-to-press transfer applications.
The patented magnet/vacuum design is million-cycle-tested for endurance.
When used with ferrous steel, it incorporates a fail-safe feature so that parts will
not release in the event of air loss.

In-die tapping with a progressive die
AIDA-America Corp. will demonstrate in-die tapping using a progressive
die in an NC1-1500D servo-driven gap press at 60 SPM with a 1⁄ 2-13 tapping operation. The demonstration combines swing motion, constant
velocity, and silent blanking motion in a ServoPro to eliminate the secondary operation normally required for tapping stamped parts.
AIDA also will feature an LF series straightener/feeder, a space-saver unit
designed to reduce overall floor space.

Punching, bending technology
The TruPunch 2020 punching machine and TruBend
3120 press brake from
TRUMPF are designed for
stamping applications.
In a short-run environment, trial runs, tooling
setups, and maintaining part
accuracy using traditional
stamping methods can eat away at profits. According to the company, punching and bending technology offers fast setup and tooling changeovers to help
stampers profitably take on short production runs, such as prototype work.
