Metalform 2007, sponsored by the Precision Metalforming
Association (PMA), will be held March 25-28 at the Donald E.
Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. Expo hours are
Sunday, March 25, 12 p.m.-5:00 p.m.; Monday, March 26, 9:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday, March 27, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; and Wednesday,
March 28, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Metalform ’07 Educational Conference
The educational conference offers 25 technical tracks covering topics such as
press technology, die design, automation, and high-strength steel. Presentations range from fundamentals for beginners to advanced concepts for experienced metal formers. Sessions will run Monday, March 26, through
Wednesday, March 28.
Monday’s track topics are sensors and control systems; tooling; safety; press
technology; welding; in-die value added; sensor fundamentals; Die Clinic: The
tooling; and assembly.
Tuesday’s tracks are advanced sensors and control systems; working with
high-strength steel; servo press technology; lean manufacturing; alternative
manufacturing processes; fabricating; shop floor to top floor—traceability and
control; material/parts handling; and high-strength steels.
Wednesday’s tracks are transfer stamping: high-speed stamping; roll forming;
and progressive tooling.
